Typically, you will get ungated in most brands by providing an invoice from an authorized suppliers showing that you have purchased at least 10 units of the brand with a proper paid invoice from the supplier.
Process of getting approved in Restricted Brands
- Make sure you are working with authorized suppliers
- Supplier need to be recognized in Amazon’s system
- Invoice must be finalized (not pro forma or sales order). You have to pay for the products first.
- Amazon may contact your supplier to verify you are their customer and they may also use other methods to audit your supplier to verify they are authorized and legit
- Info on Invoice needs to match Amazon’s info about you exactly including;
- Legal entity if it’s a business
- Right email, name, and phone
- Right amounts for units ordered (at least 10), ASINs/UPCs, Totals
- Your supplier should include their contact info on the invoice (name, address, phone, email, website)
- When submitting invoice put the following in Comments Section
- Amount of units you bought from what supplier on what date
- If you’re declined 1. Not working with authorized supplier, 2. Applied invoice has wrong info, or 3. Amazon did not properly review the info and you can try submitting again
Finalized invoice should have the following:
- Should say "invoice" & not "pro-forma" or "sales-order"
- Include your legal business name as is it in Amazon
- Include your business billing address as it is in Amazon
- Include your business shipping address (even if you are shipping direct to FBA)
- Include the name, address, phone, and some contact info of the manufacturer or distributor
- Show the combined purchase of at least 10 units
- Invoice needs to be within the last 180 days
- Should have the products UPC code, ASIN, ISBN, EAN, or Manufacture Part Number on the invoice somewhere
The invoice should NOT:
- Be edited by you at all because Amazon can catch this and think you are forging invoices
- Should not say "sales order" or "pro-forma"
- Should be no blank space for addresses
Note: If you are confident that you are purchasing from an authorized supplier and that your invoice contains all of the required info but Amazon rejects your application to sell the brand, try re-submitting the info up to 5 times as sometimes Amazon does not properly review the info on the first submission (especially for new seller accounts).
