Some paid directories can be helpful because even if you spend $2,000, finding one great supplier can be worth it. That said, the very easy to find directories targeted at Amazon sellers only can be less valuable because of saturation.
Suppliers that ask you to pay a membership fee for better pricing or perks, can usually generate some short term profits and help with ungating but they don't provide a good opportunity for growth.
